Sunday Supper: Beer and Cheddar Soup Recipe

Today's Sunday supper highlights components of two teams in today's championship game. Cheese represents the Green Bay Packers and beer represents the Pittsburgh Steelers - my hope for the two teams representing the Super Bowl with of course my beloved Steelers winning their 7th.

On to the food. I could have used a Wisconsin cheddar for this recipe but instead I went with an English cheddar named Quickeus farmhouse cheddar available at Whole Foods. I also did not attempt to use Iron City beer for this and went with a St. Peters Golden Ale instead. When making a beer and cheddar soup do not skimp on those two ingredients as those are keys to your success.

What a wonderfully warming and hearty soup for this 23 degree day here in Richmond, Virginia. Now on to the games.

  1. This may be the most delicious looking prediction I've ever seen. You must be doing something right though, because you nailed it.(Also, good call on skipping the Iron City.)

The only problem now is you are going to have to make a beer and Heinz ketchup soup for the Super Bowl.
