Ellwood Thompson Cafe "Pairing of the Brews"

What an honor it was to be invited for a sneak peak of " Pairing of the Brews" last Wednesday night from the great folks over at Ellwood Thompson Cafe! This particular night was a closed event for local foodies but no fear - you have the same opportunity to attend each Wednesday in October!

It just so happens the event Mary and I attended was sponsored by Bell's Brewery out of Kalamazoo, Michigan. They will also be the featured brewer this Wednesday night. For $25.00 dollars per person you are served a 3 course meal paired with a specialized beer per course and a question and answer session is also accompanied throughout the evening. You will not walk away hungry, thirsty, or disappointed from this event!
Tickets are required to be purchased in advance and you can get them at Ellwood Thompson. Vegetarian options are also created and served upon advance request.

One of the interesting facts I took away from Bell's was the way to search and source the beer you are drinking. By visiting Bell's website you can type the code in from the label near the bottom your beer. The Oktoberfest I drank had the number 9832 which gave me this information.

I will be doing a little giveaway of the items I received for attending the event which will include the everything in the picture at the top of this post (glass, key chain bottle opener, bumper stickers, pins and history of Bells brochure). Post a comment and I will be doing a random drawing on October 15th.

Now what are you doing Wednesday night? I hope you will be attending one of these dinners in October. I promise it will not disappoint!

  1. That food looks awesome. Nice write up and great pictures as well. What was your favorite? That braised short rib looks pretty damn good.

  2. What a great evening this was. Such a perfect idea for those cooler fall evenings, we definitely left full and a little "toasty" - ha.

Loving the new version of Ellwood's Cafe and can't wait to go back for another dinner. Who knew they had shrimp and grits, a huge braised short rib, and Parmesan souffle - oh my!
