Food Rules
I just finished reading an amazing book Food Rules by Michael Pollan on my Amazon kindle. This is a quick read of 64 rules to eating food. Some rules have descriptions some are self explanatory.
Here were my top 10 from the book in no particular order.
Here were my top 10 from the book in no particular order.
- Don't eat anything your great grandmother would not recognize.
- Avoid food products that contain more than 5 ingredients.
- Avoid foods you see advertised on television.
- Eat only foods that will eventually rot.
- Get out of the supermarket whenever you can. Think farmers market.
- Eat only food that have been cooked by humans. Think about that.
- Its not food if it is called by the same thing in every language think (Big Mac, Cheetos, or Pringles).
- Eat animals that have themselves eaten well.
- Limit your snacks to unprocessed plant foods.
- Eat food (my personal favorite).
Again this book is a quick read and those were my top 10 takes from the book but all are good lessons in eating. Looking for a good book to start getting ready for summer....check it out!
