E.A.T. Etiquette #3

If you are bringing a dessert to a restaurant for a special occasion dinner clear it with the manager when you make your reservation. Most restaurants do not have an issue with this practice as long as you are aware of the following:
  • You are creating dishes for food that in most instances the restaurant is not billing you for.
  • You are holding a table longer for food that the restaurant is not billing you for. Less turns less dollars.
  • A plate charge may be required.
  • Please tip your server keeping in mind he/she may have one less table for the night.
