2010 TED Prize Jamie Oliver

A simply amazing piece. I am a big fan of Jamie's movement. It is a 21 minute video and I ask that you find the time. The 11 minute mark will blow your mind.

  1. Wow! Education really is the key here. Jamie is spot on. The issue isn't just getting time during a school day that doesn't have 15 minutes for recess any more. The real issue is what to teach. I was in elementary school back in the dark ages (the 60's). We learned a good deal about food. It was all based on the food pyramid which had no basis in fact, no research and is slowly but surely being ripped apart by modern science.

So not only do you have at least 2 generations of school kids with no education on the subject, their parents have a totaly flawed education.

    Thanks for the clip Tim!

  3. My son has been digging carrots from the garden since he was two. He knows his way around a vegetable! I can't thank you enough for sharing this, it's a TED talk I missed.

I have to think about it, but I want to devote Fridays on my blog to some sort of food education done in a kind way.

  4. I have to admit, I never thought I'd tear up over a conversation about food. Thanks for sharing this inspiring and informative video! I'm going to share it on The Wicked Noodle in the next week or so.
    Cheers.

  5. I felt the same. Actually a TV show coming out on Jamie's mission to educate the masses! More to come.
